Cyanotype Paper Goods – Janelle Holod

Not everyone can call themselves a paper fanatic, but Edmonton bookbinder Janelle Holod has always found comfort in writing things down.

An avid organizer, Holod has amassed a collection of cahiers and day planners over the years — gaining an affinity for the weight and texture of their pages.

Her appreciation for quality paper products is reflected in the thoughtfulness and care put into creating each of her hand-stitched notebooks.

An uncommon art form in this digital age, Holod describes bookbinding as an escape from the glaring screens of modern design.

"The process itself is very satisfying," she says. "It's very rhythmic."
