Maker’s Moment podcast highlights robust maker scene

By Edmonton Made May 6, 2019

Introducing Maker's Moment: a podcast for makers by maker Vikki Wiercinski.

Owner of Mezzaluna Studio and co-producer of the Royal Bison Art & Craft Fair, Vikki has been part of Edmonton’s maker scene for almost 10 years. In her new podcast series, she explores what it means to be a maker, what compels people to make things here, and the highs and lows of maker culture.

Vikki hopes to shed a light on the robust maker and designer scene in Edmonton through casual conversations with her friends and peers. In the first three episodes (now online), listeners will hear from Matt and Shawna Heide of Concrete CatMolly Bradford of Stranger Design and Josh Smith of Libertine Fragrance. Interviews with Jessica Fern of Fern's School of Craft, Adam Smith of Strathcona Spirits and more will follow.

The 30-minute episodes will be posted monthly on the Royal Bison website, as well as on Soundcloud and Spotify, and the first volume will include 10 episodes.

At Edmonton Made we love showcasing the vibrant local community of makers and entrepreneurs. We teamed up with Vikki as a season sponsor for the first season of the podcast to help spread the stories she is capturing. Vikki has been a great friend to the program over the years — helping us curate the 2018/19 edition of the Gifted catalogue and sharing insights on how to prepare for a trade-show — and we’re very excited to be a part of her latest project.

Happy listening!
