With no literary magazine to submit to, students in the University of Alberta’s creative writing program took it upon themselves to create one in 2012. Despite donning cap and gown, editor Matthew Stepanic and designer Joseph Siracky continue to publish the magazine six years later.

Many promising writers have submitted to Glass Buffalo, including Governor General’s Literary Award finalist Benjamin Hertwig and Writer’s Guild of Alberta award winner Sadia Masud.
